Mysuru barber household boycotted, fined for providing haircut to SC/STs

A household that runs a hair-cutting salon in Mysuru in Hallare village of Nanjanagudu taluk is reportedly being socially-boycotted and requested to pay a wonderful of Rs 50,000 by the leaders of the village, allegedly for providing haircut to members of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.

Barber Mallikarjun Shetty, whose household has been ‘socially boycotted’, mentioned that this has occurred to his for the third time, including that he had paid the wonderful earlier as effectively.

He alleged that individuals have been torturing him for providing a haircut to members of the SC-ST neighborhood, including that his household would commit suicide if authorities don’t pay heed to the issue and resolve the difficulty on the earliest.

“It happened to me for the third time. I had paid a fine earlier too. One Channa Naik and others are torturing me for offering a haircut to members of the SC-ST community. If the issue is not resolved, my family will have to commit suicide. I have complained to authority,” Shetty mentioned.
